The drug war is lucrative business for the drug cartels. It’s also lucrative for various U.S. and local government agencies that see their budgets grow annually to fight a battle they don’t intend to win.
It’s so lucrative, in fact, that the Federal government is now picking winners and losers in Mexico’s drug wars by allowing some cartels free reign to commit murder within the United States and transport multi-ton quantities of drugs across the U.S.
